THE NIGHTRACE - FIS Slalom Planai

The date for the next THE NIGHTRACE is already set: Wednesday, January 28, 2026

Once a year, Schladming becomes the showcase for one of the most spectacular ski races in the World Cup winter: with numerous ski fans and a ski party that is hard to top anywhere in the world, THE NIGHTRACE has become an indispensable part of the World Cup.
 
The Planai Stadium transforms into a witch's cauldron as soon as the first athlete plunges down the floodlit slope from the starting house. Here, skiers, service team, and ski fans alike turn night into day - this is something you definitely shouldn't miss!

Information on ski operations

Closure of Planai Finish Area. The valley descent via the bypass is possible on race day. (Please consider alternative routes when descending directly into the Planai Stadium and accessing the valley station due to preparations for the Nightrace.)

Please note that access to the ski depot in Planet Planai is only possible until 12:00 PM.

Both the parking garage and the service deck (underground garage) at the Planai Stadium are closed on race day! Access to Planai on race day is possible via Planai West, where there is ample parking available.

The ticket offices and the information point at the Planai valley station are open until 6:00 PM - access is limited.

The ski bus stop is relocated from the Saturday before the Nightrace until Wednesday after the Nightrace from Planet Planai to Rathausplatz.
