Light path 2025
They flow above our heads – invisible yet full of power – the rivers of the sky.
Heavenly Rivers
Flowing above our heads – invisible and yet full of power – the heavenly rivers.
As atmospheric currents, they carry the water of oceans, rivers, and lakes through the air, sweeping over continents, cities, deserts, forests, and mountains. The heavenly rivers connect what seems to be separate – the sea with the land, the south with the north, tropical rain with the mountain stream, winter cold air, snow, and ice. A heavenly river knows no boundaries; it follows no nation, no name, no line on a map. It flows freely, openly, and connectively.
We humans are also part of this cycle. Our words, actions, and thoughts leave traces and become memories. Everything changes – but nothing is lost.
After six successful events (2019–2024/25) with several thousand visitors, the Light Path has arrived in the region. Locals and tourists equally appreciate the light art in the historic core of the house.
Starting in Advent, especially locals find time, peace, and reflection during their evening walks through the atmospheric light presentations. During the Christmas holidays, guests from the region come to enrich their eventful vacation with fascinating impressions of the Light Path.
The ensemble around the parish church, the St. Catherine's Chapel, and the castle gardens offers a unique atmosphere to be highlighted through light. Discovering, making visible, and shifting perspectives – for locals, a chance to see the familiar with new eyes, and for guests, an opportunity to explore stories and places that otherwise remain hidden.
Thus, the Light Path has become not only art but also culture and, above all, a popular meeting point to gather during the not-so-quietest time of the year: to come together, to reflect on the year, to wish each other a joyful celebration, to exchange ideas, and to enjoy the displays.
