Information
The Berndlhof is located in the spa town of Mitterberg at an altitude of about 800 m in the small village of Zirting and belongs to the municipality of Mitterberg - St. Martin. Our farm is part of the Schladming-Dachstein tourism region (Gröbmingerland), which offers many vacation activities, making us the ideal starting point for an eventful summer and winter holiday.
We are a 5-minute drive from Gröbming (shopping opportunities, restaurants, pizzerias, cafés, pubs, gas stations) and 15 minutes from the ski slopes in Haus (entrance: 4-Mountain Ski Swing).
Our apartment - Sölkblick (5 beds) at Berndlhof was newly built in 2017 and offers a wonderfully rustic atmosphere in the attic to recharge and feel good. It has two separate rooms with a balcony offering a beautiful view of the mountain world of the Sölktäler. The mini apartment Kammblick (2 beds) and the double room (2 beds) were newly built in 2023. The apartments are lovingly and comfortably furnished with wooden furniture.
Facilities:
The Sölkblick Apartment offers approximately 68 m² of a friendly ambiance with generous facilities for 4 to a maximum of 6 people: 2 bedrooms with TV, table, and cupboard. Both bedrooms have a double bed (180 x 200 cm), one of which has an additional single bed. A sofa bed for 1 person is available in the hallway;
Kitchen with rustic corner bench and table seating for 10 people, hallway with wardrobe and sofa bed. Bathroom with sink, bathtub, and shower, plus an extra separate toilet. A baby cot can also be provided on request.
The apartment over 2 floors consists of the mini apartment Kammblick on the 1st floor and the double room on the 2nd floor. The mini apartment Kammblick is a small apartment (approx. 30 m²) with a sleeping area, rustic corner bench (for 4 to 5 people), kitchenette, and a bathroom with toilet and shower.
The double room (23 m²) is equipped with a bed measuring 1.60 m x 2.00 m and a bathroom with toilet and shower. There is a sideboard with a kettle, some dishes, and cutlery.
During your stay, we would be happy to provide you with our farm products, such as homemade farmhouse bread, homemade alpine butter, and homemade cheese, upon request.
Upon request, you can also book a Hara - Shiatsu massage (about 75 m from the apartment).
We are happy to share our love for nature and agriculture with you so that you feel completely at home with us and can learn about the region, our home, and farming. There are many hiking and walking opportunities on Mitterberg, about which we would be happy to inform you.
Berndlhof is a grassland farm with about 35 cattle, of which about 6 are dairy cows, and the rest are calves and heifers.
In 2019, we established a small farm dairy at the farm and process the milk from our dairy cows into our Berndlhof cheese. The cows are fed exclusively with hay for milk processing, go to pasture in the spring as soon as possible, and in the summer months to our alpine pasture, the Kaltenbachalm. There we produce five different types of cheese, including the Kaltenbach - Alm - Kas.
Additionally, we have two Noriker mares, two pigs, and four cats. Our farm also includes its own alpine pasture, the Kaltenbachalm, which we traditionally farm agriculturally, including alpine refreshments, for three months in the summer. The Kaltenbachalm is about 30 km from Berndlhof, situated at an altitude of 1600 m at the foot of the Sölkpass, and is easily accessible by car in the summer months.

Payment Conditions
We offer rooms with view, we are right at the cross-country ski trail, near the forest and meadowlands. We have satellite TV, invigorated water, free crib/baby bed upon request in our apartment. We speak English & German, we have car parking lots and we accept cash payment.
We have farm products and animals at the farm (cats, cattle, horses). We sell milk products & cheese, bread. We offer rolls service, you can book a box in the horse stable for your own horse. Our apartment has a own kitchen for guests. We are sorry that we allow no pets. We have a private alpine hut at the Sölkpass which we farm and manage during summer.
