The Starcke House on the Graz Schlossberg has a long history. Originally built in the 16th century as a powder tower, it was converted in the early 19th century into a small winemaker's house with neo-Gothic elements. Surrounded by vineyards and vegetable gardens, it later served as a summer residence for the actor and poet Gustav Starcke. Here, he wrote texts that captured the special atmosphere of the Schlossberg and gave the house its name. The view over the city, the quiet location, and the historic building substance make the structure a place with its own aura to this day.

Since the late 1990s, the Starcke House has been operated as a restaurant. Chef Milivoj Novak emphasizes a fine combination of regional products with Mediterranean influences. Seasonal menus reflect the diversity of ingredients, some of which are sourced from their own cultivation. This results in dishes that impress through precise preparation and creative combinations. The view from the terrace and the unique ambiance of the historical building round off the experience and make a visit a moment where history and culinary art come together harmoniously.
