Södingberg Chapel

Geistthal-Södingberg

A sonorous retreat between hills and history.

In the midst of the idyllic valley of the Södingbach in West Styria stands the Chapel of St. Joseph in Södingberg as a quiet testament to lived faith and community. The comparatively large tower houses a harmonious bell duo from the renowned bell foundry Grassmayr in Innsbruck, which has been inviting inner reflection with its fine sound since 2003. The bells – one tuned to fis", the other to a" – together create a lively sound play that can be heard far beyond the valley and shapes the character of the place.

The chapel is given special charm by the loving care of the Kapelle Södingberg interest group, which not only maintains the sacred building but also breathes life and significance into it. The interplay of architectural clarity, acoustic uniqueness, and lived spirituality makes this place a quiet discovery in the Graz Region.

Nestled in the hilly landscape, the chapel invites you to pause, experience the sound, and let the spiritual atmosphere take effect.
