Orpheum

The Orpheum in the Graz district of Lend is one of the city's most traditional venues. It was opened in 1899 as a variety theater, where acrobats, musicians, and entertainers performed. Heavily damaged during World War II, the building was reconstructed after 1945 and served in the following decades as a cinema, youth center, and cultural house. Thus, the Orpheum has continually reinvented itself while still preserving its unique atmosphere.

Today, it is one of the central stages of Graz and offers space for concerts, cabaret, theater, and readings. The Grand Hall combines classical stage design with modern technology, while the "Orpheum Extra" allows for intimate formats in a smaller setting. The program ranges from pop and jazz to literature and alternative scenes.
