Theatre: Pizza or a door in the darkness does not dance

On December 5, 2025, the premiere of the play "Pizza or A Door Does Not Dance in the Dark" by the world-renowned ensemble Nature Theater of Oklahoma will take place at the new Gold & Pech Theater in Eggersdorf near Graz. The play combines music, dance, choreography, and theater into an unusual "chamber opera" – with pizza!

What begins as a peaceful pizza party soon takes an unexpected turn: Linda confesses she is dying of a mysterious illness and disappears. Her presumed death opens a gate to another world. For the audience, this means: two shows for the price of one. Everyone gets a piece of pizza – maybe two – and perhaps a secret message from the pizza delivery person, who remains vague.

The production plays with absurd movements, musical highlights, and melodramatic moments. Between everyday life, despair, and hope, a surreal-comic atmosphere emerges that surprises and touches at the same time.

The performance venue, a lovingly converted former country inn, completes the experience: Amidst forests and rural charm, the Gold & Pech Theater brings a place of culture directly to the gates of Graz. For the Graz Region, this means fresh, bold theater that brings people together – over pizza, music, and play.
