Graz between war and new beginnings – experience the city’s history vibrantly at the Graz Museum.
The exhibition “Into the Unknown. Graz 1945–1965” at the Graz Museum, Sackstraße 18, runs from 26 June 2025 to 12 April 2026. It shows how the city in Styria changed after World War II. Amid ruins and new hopes, life, politics and the cityscape were redefined.
Photos, everyday items and eyewitness accounts offer insights into daily life shaped by shortages and ideals. Unusual sources tell stories of political, social and cultural transformation in Graz.
A highlight is a room furnished in 1960s style – a quiet space for reflection and direct experience.
