The Schöckl Challenge brings sports, nature, and team spirit right to Graz's doorstep. At the foot of Graz's local mountain Schöckl near Sankt Radegund, teams test their strengths in various disciplines — mountain running, downhill mountain biking, uphill mountain biking, and paragliding. Those who take on this challenge combine adrenaline with stunning landscapes: steep ascents, fast trails, and views over the Mur Valley.
The start takes place at the valley station of the Schöckl cable car. Participants feel the mountain under their soles or tires, experience the speed of downhill, the power of uphill, and the sense of freedom at the paragliding launch. The combination of sports makes the challenge special — it requires endurance, technique, team spirit, and courage.
Spectators enjoy the lively atmosphere: runner groups on the ascent, mountain bikers on the trail, paragliding stars in the sky — a whole spectrum for various sports fans. The atmosphere on site is filled with excitement and good cheer: people from Graz, the surrounding area, and even guests take part — together, as a team, with respect for nature and joy in movement.
The Schöckl Challenge shows: Graz and its surroundings offer more than just a city — here, mountains, trails, and community come together. Anyone who has participated once or just watched feels: it's not just a competition, but a piece of regional joie de vivre in Styria.
