Bold, musical, fairytale-like: Snow White meets 77 dwarfs at the Graz Opera.
Starting in autumn 2025, Oper Graz presents Snow White and the 77 Dwarves, a playful family musical composed by Elena Kats-Chernin with a libretto by Susanne Felicitas Wolf.
In this modern take on the fairy tale, Snow White wants more than beauty—she seeks adventure. With the help of a life-sized rabbit named Richard III and a chorus of 77 singing dwarves, she challenges her vain stepmother and a speaking mirror.
The music blends opera, musical theatre, pop, schlager, and film music. It's humorous and imaginative—perfect for children aged 6 and up, and equally enjoyable for adults.
Performances take place during the Advent season and in spring 2026 at the main stage of Oper Graz.
A warm-hearted story about courage, friendship, and finding your own voice—brought to life in the Graz Region.
