A lively Johann Nestroy comedy in a historical castle setting near Köflach.

The comedy "Leisure" by Johann Nestroy will be performed at Schloss Piber near Köflach in Styria from November 19 to December 14, 2025, presented by Schlossfestspiele Piber. The performance takes place in the splendid ceremonial hall of the castle - a historic setting that gives the lively farce plenty of room to breathe.

The plot: The landlord Stockmauer is holding his tenant Felder and his servant Bumml due to unpaid rent. On a whim, Felder places an ad for a dressmaker's business; he and Bumml disguise themselves as women to lure in "seamstresses." Soon the disguise is uncovered by an old affair, confusion grows, and Bumml sums it up: there are more important things than a botched pastime.
The production by director Alfred Haidacher brings "Leisure" to the stage in a Styria premiere.
