On January 1, 2026, Oper Graz invites audiences to its traditional New Year’s Concert, this time under the theme La bella Italia!. The program brings together Italian elegance and musical brilliance—offering a two-hour journey to the South.
The evening features works by Ruggero Leoncavallo, Gioachino Rossini, Johann Strauss Jr., and Robert Stolz, including beloved arias and cheerful orchestral pieces. The focus lies on the interplay between Italian opera and Austrian salon music.
Soloists from the Oper Graz ensemble join the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Marius Burkert. The concert begins at 7:30 PM on the main stage of Oper Graz and ends around 9:30 PM.
With its festive atmosphere, Italian flair, and musical excellence, this concert is a winter highlight in the Graz Region. A joyful and elegant way to start the new year—blending Southern warmth with local tradition.
