In the spotlight, we present the natural horn and with it the famous horn player David Fliri from South Tyrol. What could be more fitting than for him to bring his alphorn along and perform Leopold Mozart's concerto for the "most natural" of all horns with us? With a symphony by Franz Xaver Richter, one of the founding fathers of the revolutionary Mannheim School, the court orchestra is truly opening the door to the Viennese classical period. During this era, the horn experiences an enormous upswing, both sustainably changing the orchestral sound and replacing the trumpet as the most virtuosic of all brass instruments. This time, the final word should belong to Wolfgang Amadé Mozart. As one of the first freelance musicians in history, he is poised on the brink of the next upheaval. But that is another story…
