Guided winter hike: Via the Gmoaalm to Übelbach
Winter hike through forest paths and gentle meadows in the Graz mountains.
On this winter hike, we explore a part of the second stage of the new Graz Mountain Hiking Trail.
We walk along idyllic forest paths and gentle alpine meadows through the peaceful winter landscape, passing silent alpine huts and enjoying the beautiful views of the Graz Mountain region. The route leads from the former inn Ebenwirt over the Frohnleitner Gmoaalm down to Übelbach.
Meeting point: 08:15 at Übelbach train station
Distance: 11 km | Ascent 380 m | Descent 720 m | Walking time approx. 4:30 hours
The end of the hike is planned for around 14:15, followed by a joint meal in Übelbach. Return travel individually from Übelbach. (possibly with flux.at to Peggau, not included)
Arrival by public transport: by S-Bahn S1 from Graz - Peggau, and S-Bahn S11 to Übelbach, then together with a shared taxi to GH Ebenwirt (included), return trip from Übelbach individually.
Difficulty level: Mountain hike without special requirements, long descent, endurance for about 4.5 hours and 400 meters of ascent, as well as 700 meters downhill required.
Equipment: Good winter hiking/mountain shoes required, crampons for ice, hiking poles recommended, warm hiking/sports clothing (layer principle), backpack, hat, gloves, wind and rain protection, drink, snack, no meals during the hike.
Cost: € 15.00 per person, payable on site to the guide
Service: Guided hike with certified mountain guides, transfer to the starting point.

The guided hike is conducted by the Graz Region Tourist Board in cooperation with hiking guides. Please note that last-minute changes may be possible. Participation is at your own risk.
For safety and organizational reasons, bringing dogs is not allowed!
