Classical concert for the 250th anniversary of independence at the Graz Opera on 27.06.2026.
On Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, the concert "Freedom! – 250 Years Declaration of Independence" will take place at the Graz Opera (Kaiser-Josef-Platz 10, 8010 Graz). The programs address the theme of freedom from historical and musical perspectives and feature works such as The Unanswered Question by Charles Ives, Symphony No. 2 “The Age of Anxiety” by Leonard Bernstein, and Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” by Antonín Dvořák. The musical direction will be conducted by Vassilis Christopoulos; the pianist Claire Huangci will also perform.
The event offers a sensitive exploration of the meanings of freedom and self-determination, set within a classical concert environment in the heart of Graz. In this way, the Graz region is enriched by a high-quality artistic highlight that simultaneously connects history and music.
