Christmas Market at Hüblergut, Semriach
Advent market at Hüblerhof: Farm atmosphere, handicrafts & animals in Semriach.
On Saturday, December 13, and Sunday, December 14, the market "Advent Market at Hüblerhof" invites you to the idyllic farm of the Fodermayer family in Semriach. In the Graz Region, rural tradition meets pre-Christmas atmosphere.
For nearly a quarter of a century, the farmers' association Windhof, together with the hosts at Hüblerhof, has been organizing this special Advent event.
The atmosphere is deliberately simple and warm: The open-air church service area not only exchanges the scent of wood and manure with that of mulled cider and baked apples – but it also opens doors to blacksmithing, live animals, and creative gift ideas.
For children, there is the opportunity to try their hand at blacksmithing with hammer and anvil – an experience that one does not find every day on a farm. Numerous artisans from Styria offer works made of ceramic, tin, wood, glass, felt, and beeswax. Christmas trees from the region and traditional Styrian nativity scenes complete the range.
Culinary delights include homemade jams, liqueurs, schnapps, baked apples from the wood-fired oven, and of course, mulled wine alternatives like mulled cider or mulled mead. Festive Christmas music fills the air – right between stalls, barns, and exhibition stands.
A special highlight: Animals such as goats, oxen, donkeys, and alpacas provide lively encounters and make the market very attractive for families. High-quality alpaca products can be found as gift ideas for the quiet time of year.
If you have time for an outing, you will find peace in Semriach away from the hustle and bustle – with regional flair, genuine craftsmanship, and rural atmosphere. The Hüblerhof welcomes its visitors in an authentic environment, which is rare to find today.
A tip for all those who want to consciously begin Advent and experience Styria in its rural diversity.
