Chamber Music Festival: Roman Christmas
Baroque sounds of Italian Advent music in the pilgrimage church of Maria Straßengel near Graz.
On December 13, the Chamber Music Festival invites you to "Roman Christmas" at the pilgrimage church of Maria Straßengel near Graz. An evening event under the theme of Italian Baroque music during Advent. The church of Maria Straßengel, located a few kilometers north of Graz, impresses with its delicate sandstone tower and medieval stained glass windows.
The program brings the original sound of Italian Baroque music to the heart of Styria: The Scaramouche Ensemble revives works by composers such as Arcangelo Corelli and Antonio Vivaldi – using historical instruments, in the clear space of the church.
The selection of music pieces enhances the pre-Christmas atmosphere – clarity, solemnity, and warmth all at once. The ambiance of Maria Straßengel creates a calm, almost meditative atmosphere: The church transforms into a silent resonance space through colors and light.
Those attending this concert experience a moment of cultural reflection in Advent, embedded in the landscape of the Graz Region. It is a conscious invitation to take your time, let the music resonate, and enjoy the special combination of architectural style, sound, and place.
