Chamber Music Festival: Golden Times

Octet of trombones and friends provides a warm, golden sound experience in St. Bartholomew's Parish Church.
On Sunday, December 21, a special concert will be performed as part of the Styrian Chamber Music Festival in the Parish Church of St. Bartholomew: “Golden Times.” Eight trombones, consisting of the ensemble from the Graz Trombone Quartet & Friends (with guests from the Graz and Vienna Opera), bring a sound body into play that is rarely heard in a church setting.
The Church of St. Bartholomew is idyllically located in the immediate vicinity of Graz and offers, with its acoustic space, the ideal framework for this unusual brass ensemble. Here, sound unfolds in depth and width: not only through the golden raw timbre of the trombones but also through their spatial effect under the vaulted ceiling. The concert opens access to timbres that are rarely experienced in the Graz Region, an acoustic “gold” in a tranquil atmosphere.
