With the annual theme BLOOM, the Universalmuseum Joanneum is expecting a blossoming program in 2026: 1 theme, 8 locations, 10 exhibitions.
The flower is regarded as a symbol of peace, the fragility of life, and enlightenment. These and other facets serve as the starting point for the Universalmuseum Joanneum and the Kunsthaus Graz to present the full spectrum of the flower in 2026.
Under the title BLOOM, ten exhibitions will showcase how flowers connect cultures, but also drive colonialism; how they inspire the sciences while creating myths, and how they accompany people from birth to death. Between spring and autumn, BLOOM invites visitors to explore the flower and its close relationship with humanity. The highlight will be the festival month in June 2026, when eight locations will flourish with a multitude of events.
