What guests can look forward to

How about a hike? Here you are spoilt for choice between ‘wonderful nature and walkable art’ on the WunderWanderWeg trail, the Bartholomä chapel trails or simply a leisurely hike through the vineyards.

When you come to St. Bartholomä, the first thing that catches your eye are the steeples of the Old and New Churches. The ‘Luahm-’ or ‘Kegelbudl’, built in 1894, is a historic leisure facility. You can still play on the listed natural bowling alley today, provided you get the key from the church innkeeper. The name Hanns Koren is inextricably linked with St. Bartholomä. The ‘Korenstub'n’ in the bell tower of the old church is dedicated to the great mastermind.

In 2024, the municipality of St. Bartholomä was honoured as a ‘Styrian Community of the Future’ for its strong initiatives on the topic of ‘Vibrant Town Centres - Spaces for Encounters’. The award was initiated by the Styrian Adult Education Centre. St. Bartholomä won in the ‘Municipalities’ category, above all for the Kellerstöckl and the artwork ‘Hat for Hanns Koren’. The municipality has invested a great deal in its cultural heritage in recent years and created event spaces around the old church.
