This stage of the BergeSeen eTrail in Ausseerland combines impressive nature, cultural highlights, and sporting challenges. Covering a distance of 67.4 kilometers and 1,170 meters of elevation gain, the route alternates between asphalt, gravel, and easy trails—ideal for experienced e-mountain bikers, but also for athletic mountain bikers who focus on endurance and panoramic views. The tour is part of the large-scale BergeSeen eTrail through the Salzkammergut.

The starting point is the Bad Aussee information office. From here, the route leads along Wilhelm-Kienzl-Straße to the Narzissen Vital Resort. It then continues to Fischgasse, on to Sommersbergseestraße and along gravel paths through the Sarsteinwald forest. Along the S800 MTB trail, the route runs through forests, past farmsteads, and over the Austegweg to Koppentraun. After crossing the river and passing Bad Aussee train station, the route continues along Sießreithstraße and Koppenalmstraße upstream.

At Ödensee, we recommend taking a break at the Kohlröserlhütte before continuing along the old Ödenseestraße road and through the forest towards Steinitzenalm. Alternatively, you can follow Almgrabenstraße directly to Bad Mitterndorf. Once you reach the town center, the route takes you along the Kochalmweg trail, on gravel paths through quiet forest passages, past the Salza Almen to the highest point of the tour at 1,205 meters above sea level.

The subsequent descent to Grundlsee rewards you with fantastic views. After the village of Gößl, the route takes you back along the asphalt road along the lake before a cycle path branches off to the right towards Altaussee.

Tip! If you're traveling by e-bike: This stage requires precise range planning. Pack a spare battery or charger!
