Obersdorf circular hiking trail - Nordic Walking

A varied Nordic walking tour through the impressive landscape between Bad Mitterndorf and Obersdorf. The route covers around ten kilometers without any significant differences in altitude and leads through an area full of geological features and natural diversity. The trail is ideal for gentle endurance training and, with its 20 themed stations, offers an exciting nature experience for anyone interested in landscape history.

The starting point is at the western entrance to Bad Mitterndorf, right next to Haus Trinkl. From here, the circular route leads through the district of Rödschitz Reith, where it is identical to forest trail no. 17.

After passing through Obersdorf, the route circles the Kumitzberg with the Maria Kumitz pilgrimage church – a special cultural highlight on this Nordic walking route in the Salzkammergut. After an underpass at the federal highway, the trail runs along the Obersdorfer Moos to the “Pleam” estate. There it joins the Laasenweg (trail no. 22), which leads back to the starting point at Haus Trinkl.

Along the route, well-marked stations provide clear explanations of how the landscape was formed, the mountain formation of the Totes Gebirge, and phenomena such as moors, glacial mills, karst springs, and vanished torrents.
