This HWW hiking route is part of the Wechselland Historical Long-Distance Hiking Trail (HWW), which tells the story of Wechselland along more than 100 HWW stations. More information can be found at www.wechsel-wandern.at.
This HWW hiking route leads from Schäffern to Zöbern via Schlag bei Zöbern and Ziegersberg Castle. The significance of Ziegersburg Castle, which has fallen into ruin, is explained at the "Schloss Ziegersberg" HWW station. There you also have a beautiful view of the Wechsel.

The tour is not signposted throughout. Route guidance with app recommended.
We recommend a visit to the newly designed village square in Schäffern, or you can visit the Bärenstarke hiking and exercise arena in the village.
