The market community of Kobenz lies at an altitude of 621 m above sea level and has 1,826 inhabitants. The area of the municipality is 1,762 ha. On 8 July 2007 it was elevated to the status of a market town. In 2010, the market town of Kobenz celebrated its cultural year with the big 1150th anniversary!
