The Pilgrim Hostel Obdach, located in the historic Messner House from 1720, has been lovingly restored and lies centrally in the village center of the market town of Obdach in the Murtal region. Guests can expect a charming, Christian-run non-smoking house with a family atmosphere. Nearby, there are bakers, supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, and numerous leisure activities. Hiking, biking, and pilgrimage paths, including the Camino de Santiago, pass right by the house.
In winter, the FIS ski slope is within walking distance, and cross-country skiing trails and the family ski area Rieseralm are just a few minutes away. In the garden, bonfire evenings or table tennis can be enjoyed. A small fitness room is available. Pets are welcome, as long as they respect the friendly runner ducks.
The local mountain "Zirbitzkogel" can be hiked from various sides. Passing by lakes and alpine huts, these tours offer beautiful experiences on pleasantly challenging (athletic) routes. The nature trail Granitzen is a free, small adventure trail in the wild nature, with little discovery posts leading up to the old mill.
The Fohnsdorf thermal spa "Aqualux Therme" is always very popular among guests for a relaxing day and is reachable in 20 minutes by car.
