Welcome to the Katschwaldhütte – your getaway in the midst of nature
In a sunny secluded location on the edge of the forest, in the heart of the Styrian Zirbenland (Murtal, Styria), lies the charming Katschwaldhütte – a retreat for all those seeking peace, nature, and authenticity. The idyllic village of St. Wolfgang is only 1 km away, and you can find everything you need for daily life in Obdach, which is 10 km away. Highlights such as the Aqualux thermal spa or the Red Bull Ring can also be reached in less than 30 minutes by car.
The rustic alpine hut offers 80 m² of living space for up to 6 people. Three separate bedrooms ensure restful nights in an alpine atmosphere.
In the cozy ground floor, you will find a traditional living room with a dining table, kitchenette, and wood stove. For added comfort, there are a microwave, electric stove, coffee machine, refrigerator, toaster, kettle, and satellite TV.
The hut is heated with a wood central heating system – an oil central heating system can also be activated upon request.
Whether hiking, exploring the region, or enjoying culinary experiences – the Katschwaldhütte is the perfect starting point for diverse discoveries.
And for an extra dose of relaxation, a private sauna house with a wood-burning sauna is available for you – ideal for quiet hours after an active day in the mountains.

Arrival and Departure
Your arrival is possible every Saturday between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. On the day of departure, we ask you to leave the apartment by 10:00 AM at the latest – this allows enough time for thorough preparation for the next guests.

Additional Information about the Katschwaldhütte
- Parking available for several cars – also in the fenced area (especially practical in summer with grazing cattle)
- Sun tower with 4 seats for relaxed hours outdoors
- Seating group in front of the hut – ideal for shared meals in nature
- Bedding can be booked for an additional fee
- Electricity costs: € 0.35 / kWh
- Final cleaning: € 40,-
- Pets are welcome: € 5,- per day
