With his character “Helfried,” Austrian cabaret artist Christian Hölbling created an award-winning fictional character in 2000: the prototype of an eccentric, deceitful teacher who has since appeared on many stages, on television, and as a presenter. Everything is ready for the big anniversary press gala to celebrate 25 years of the cult character. But Maria (Maria Weichesmüller), a freelancer for a theater magazine, is the only guest to show up. She helps to thoroughly dust off the cult character who has fallen out of time, while still allowing Helfried to remain true to himself.
