Die kleine Meerjungfrau– Theater mit Horizont
On January 16, 2026, the Theater Horizont will present the enchanting musical "The Little Mermaid" at the Kulturhaus Knittelfeld at two different times to choose from.
A wonderful world full of colorful animals and plants is where the sea people live. A world where Marie, the little mermaid, can move as freely and securely as a fish in the water. And yet, she wants to leave, to rise up into the other world beyond the water's surface. But why leave the world one was born into? Why indeed, wonder Kasimir the pufferfish, and especially Marie's father, the mighty sea king.
During a storm, Marie saved a young human prince from drowning and fell in love with him. Her longing to see him again and her curiosity about his world are so great that she makes a dangerous deal. She gives her enchanting voice to the old sea witch to be able to live on land. But the price is high: If Marie fails to win the prince’s heart, she must return to the sea – and will dissolve into foam.
A musical about love, longing, and growing up by Clemens Handler and Gernot Kogler, inspired by the best-known fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen – colorful, emotional, and full of magic for the whole family.
