Beautiful but challenging road bike tour in the Murtal adventure region, for the most part on little-traveled country roads. Hilly route, which makes numerous meters of altitude accumulate.
This racing bike tour leads you from the starting point Red Bull Ring in the adventure region Murtal over the "Hammergraben" to Seckau. Then it goes via Fresenberg in the direction of St. Marein. Here it leads initially through a small residential area and then through a forest. In St. Marein a large plain stretches out before us and we cycle to Feistritz on a road with little traffic. Here we branch off again and have a steadier climb ahead of us, with some beautiful viewpoints. Back we go downhill towards Kraubath. From here we share the main road with the traffic, but it is not very heavy. For this it goes only more straight along and we can make the last kilometers speed. Finally we cross Knittelfeld until we arrive back at the Red Bull Ring.

More information
Take the S36 to the Spielberg exit (Zeltweg Ost) and then follow the signs to the Red Bull Ring.
The route leads mainly on little-used state and municipal roads.
When the Red Bull Ring is closed we start in Sachendorf. At the parking lot "Tremmelberg" - actually an entrance for the hike to the tower in the mountains, we can park unload the bike and start on the provincial road.
Recommended for a break is the stop in the beautiful guest garden at the Hofwirt as well as a visit to the Seckau Abbey.
From Knittelfeld station, the tour can be easily adapted.
Extensive parking and refreshment facilities are available at the Red Bull Ring. Attention - during major events the access road is closed. As an alternative starting point for this tour we would suggest the parking lot "Tremmelberg" in Sachendorf.
You can find more tour tips on the adventure region Murtal. The "Nimm's Radl" cycle map shows the region's cycle junction system to help you navigate through the Mur Valley. The tour booklet "Nimm's Radl" offers further cycle tours, available at www.murtal.at/nimmsradl
