The city of Murau with its renowned brewery, is located directly at the banks of the river Mur, embedded in the beautiful landscape of the Murtal valley. Being one of the most popular destination of the region, Murau is also an ideal spot for an active holiday amidst the idyllic mountain scenery.
The JUFA Hotel Murau*** is only a short stroll from the centre of town, offering a quiet location for a relaxing holiday, no matter the season.
Being a well-known holiday destination for its array of activities, the region has a lot to offer: hiking and walking on easy to challenging mountain paths, summer-bobsled, cycling tours, mountainbiking, swimming in crystal clear mountain lakes and natural pools, and, of course, skiing and snowboarding in the Murtal valley ski resorts. The resort Kreischberg - known as host to the snowboard and freestyle world championship - is also an ideal place for a family winter holiday. Also the resorts Lachtal and Turracher Höhe are within close vicinity and have a lot to offer for every snow enthusiast. For those not so keen on skiing and boarding, most resorts offer tobogganing facilities, ice skating and cross-country skiing, as well as snow-shoeing and ice curling.
The family-friendly JUFA Hotel Murau*** consists of three historic buildings and offers comfortable guest rooms as well as a modern sauna and spa area, where you can enjoy deep tissue relaxation after a day on the mountains or before your next skiing or hiking adventure.
The kids can have fun in our own sports hall, discover new adventures in the indoor wood-experience-climbing-world, or enjoy a movie in our own public movie theatre.
