As part of the 950th anniversary of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Lambrecht, the Wandelbühne reinterprets Umberto Eco's epoch-making novel "The Name of the Rose" with the Mixed Choir. The entire monastery complex, from the abbey church to the library, will become a stage. The audience will themselves become part of the story and walk with the protagonist William through a labyrinth of secrets. Tickets available at www.wandelbühne.at.
This extraordinary production brings the Benedictine monastery to life and makes its cultural heritage accessible to a broad audience in a unique way. The theater mystery is a highlight of the anniversary year 2026, in which the monastery celebrates its 950th anniversary.
