Together we create Martenizi - small pieces of jewelry made from red and white thread, traditionally worn in Bulgaria on March 1st. They symbolize health, happiness, and the beginning of spring. I myself come from Bulgaria and am very happy to share this beautiful tradition with the children here. The Martenizi can be worn as a bracelet or pendant, or tied to trees - a colorful symbol of hope and new beginnings.
