The Almabtrieb in the Lachtal belongs in Styria, and especially in the Murau region to one of the largest autumn events. In this long-standing tradition, which always takes place on the last Saturday in September, the animals are driven from the lush pastures down into the valley to spend the winter there.

Program
09:30 AM: Arrival of the decorated alpine animals at Hochegg. The alpine farmers with their animals will be welcomed by the Schönberg-Lachtal music association.
11:30 AM: Thanksgiving service at the Hurnus Chapel with a brass group from the music association.
12:00 PM: Tapping of the beer
02:00 PM: Large raffle for valuable prizes: 1 calf, 1 pig, 1 sheep, pedal tractor, and many other beautiful prizes.
