The hike from the Großlachtalhütte to the Rossalm is a beautiful alpine walk that is also easy for families with small children to manage.
Explore the scenic mountain backdrop of the Lachtal and spend a wonderful family day in the Murau region. The ascent as well as the descent is suitable for young and old.

From D, NL, B, F: Via Munich, Salzburg, Tauernautobahn to St. Michael/Lungau (or Radstätter Tauernpaß), turn off to Tamsweg - Murau, Lachtal.
From H: Via St. Gotthard, Graz - Packautobahn (Twimberg exit) - Judenburg - Oberzeiring - Lachtal.
From CH: Via Arlberg, Innsbruck, Bischofshofen, Tauernautobahn to St. Michael/Lungau (or Radstätter Tauernpaß), turn off to Tamsweg - Murau, Lachtal.
From I: Via Tarvis, Villach, St. Veit/Glan, Scheifling, Niederwölz, Lachtal.
By car from Vienna: Via Semmering, Bruck/Mur, Judenburg, Oberzeiring, Lachtal.
You walk past the Großlachtalhütte and follow the walking path, which barely climbs until you reach the ridge after about 40 minutes. From there you follow the signposted path to the Rossalm summit.
The descent takes place on the same path.
Stop by the Großlachtalhütte, the hut landlord is known for his delicious homemade Brettljause.
