Coming from Tamsweg, follow the road via Ramingstein and Predlitz straight on to Stadl an der Mur.
We walk along the cycle path past Goppelsbach Castle and after 3.5 km we reach Einach. At the village sign, we turn right to a chapel where we cross the stream. We follow trail no. 795 “Lasaberger Alpl”, initially 3 km on asphalt, then steeply uphill on a forest path to the Lasaberger Alpl (approx. 4 hours)
Descending from the summit cross, we follow trail no. 795 for an hour on a forest path, then continue on an asphalt road in the direction of Tamsweg. After approx. 20 minutes, a dirt road branches off to the left at a wooden cross. We follow the “Tamsweger Rundweg” markings, after 300 m we turn left onto a path down to the Mur cycle path. We follow the “Tamsweger Rundweg” up the Mur to the Mur bridge.
We cross the railroad track and turn right over the bridge over the bypass road. We have the choice of turning right on the asphalt road or left on the somewhat steep old pilgrims' path to reach our destination, the pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard.
Alternative: From Stadl on the Mur cycle path to Tamsweg (21 km, approx. 5 hours).
If the weather is bad or if you want to avoid going further uphill, we follow the Mur cycle path to Tamsweg.
At the Mur bridge, we cross the railroad track and then the bridge over the road.We have the choice of turning right on the asphalt road or left on the somewhat steep old pilgrims' path to reach our destination, the pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard. Follow the signposted footpath to the destination St. Leonhard.
