From Stadl an der Mur to Hiasbauer and back

This easy circular tour starting in Stadl an der Mur is particularly good for families. Afterwards, the Stadl leisure center offers a well-deserved cool-down.

The short hike first leads along the Mur Cycle Path to Goppelspach Castle. This magnificent two-story Renaissance building with beautiful grounds is privately owned. Passing the castle with its moat, the trail now leads partly through the forest and partly along paths to the Hiasbauer farmstead before heading back. Afterwards, the Stadler bathing lake is a great place to cool off.

The village of Stadl an der Mur is located not far from Murau and St. Georgen in the direction of Tamsweg. Here you are very close to the borders with the neighboring regions of Lungau in Salzburg and Carinthia – you could say we are in a border triangle.
