Halbenrain

At the center of Halbenrain is the castle, first mentioned in 1244, which is surrounded by a magnificent park and with its three floors is a jewel of the region. The adjacent herb garden enchants every herb lover and, together with the adjacent church dedicated to St. Nicholas, is an excellent excursion tip. The natural landscape and the rural flair in and around Halbenrain make you forget the stress of everyday life.

The forests and the unspoiled Mur floodplains are an ideal hiking area and hold moving discoveries in store for cyclists around the Mur cycle path, the Weinland Steiermark cycle tour and the Eurovelo 9. In the Beetle Bean Cabinet in Dietzen, you are on the trail of an extraordinary treat and learn everything about the beetle bean. The Parktherme Bad Radkersburg and the Traminer golf course in Klöch are just a few minutes away by car. Tip: Take a leisurely stroll from stall to stall at the "Strawanzn" in July and August and enjoy the variety of regional delicacies.

Halbenrein is also the starting point of the K13 Murauen Weg. The hiking trail leads you through the second largest closed floodplain forest area in Austria - a long-standing Natura 2000 area and UNESCO biosphere park. 13 kilometers and 13 trail stages bring you into resonance with nature with special movement and breathing exercises.
