Leisurely explore the culinary delights at the three huts on the Schneealm with your e-bike.

We travel by car to Neuberg an der Mürz and turn off at Teichwirt Urani to take the toll road up to the Schneealm by car, reaching Kohlebnerstand. From there, we begin our e-bike tour at 1,450 meters altitude.

Following a slightly steeper forest road, we ascend to the Schneealm plateau, where the ride becomes more relaxed as we make our way to the huts.

To the left, nestled in the Schneealmboden, we find the first hut, where hosts Tom and Judy are already waiting for us.
A bit further to the right, majestically perched on a hill, is the Schneealpenhaus, where the new hosts Michael and Thomas have prepared refreshments.
Finally, we pedal further to the eastern end of the plateau to visit the Lurgbauerhütte, a bio alpine cheese dairy, where we can enjoy homemade cheese specialties.

For the return journey, we follow the forest road back to Kohlebnerstand. An e-bike charging station is available at Teichwirt Urani.

From Kohlebnerstand, we follow the wide forest road, which is partly quite steep, up to the Kutatschhütte (an unmanaged shelter).

We then continue to the high plateau, where we have two options:

Turn right towards the Schneealpenhaus
Continue straight towards the Michlbauerhütte, then further on to the Lurgbauerhütte

The return follows the same route back.

If you have the choice... all three huts offer culinary delights! The best option is to visit both the Schneealpenhaus and the Lurgbauerhütte.

For very sporty riders, the tour can also start from the valley at Teichwirt Urani.
