Almost unnoticed, the small wooden observation tower stands above Neuberg an der Mürz.
Easily reached by a short uphill walk, it offers a beautiful view of the abbey and the village center.

From the abbey (Stift courtyard), the route crosses the main road (caution – traffic!) to the entrance of the Veitschbach valley.
Just after the Mürz bridge, the trail begins on the left near a small ice rink, following a path with a wooden railing uphill through the forest until reaching the observation tower.

From the Stiftshof, head south across the main road to the entrance of the Veitschbach (signposted).
Just after the Mürz bridge (fitness trail), keep left and cross a small wooden bridge (signposted – caution: slippery when wet!). From there, follow the trail with a wooden railing uphill behind the ice hut.

The well-marked and clearly visible trail leads in several switchbacks directly to the observation tower.

Descent follows the same route.

A visit to the abbey, the Kaiserhof glass manufactory, the nature museum, and the village shop (Greißlerei) next to the abbey is highly recommended.
