According to legend, this easy and leisurely hike leads to the home of the Rotsohler-Krampus, a devil who only lives in the Veitsch. In summer, however, you will find cattle grazing here and hikers on the paths...

The starting point of the hike is the Brunnalm. Our route leads along forest roads and marked paths to the Schalleralm and finally to the Rotsohlalm.

S6 Semmering motorway, exit Mitterdorf. At the roundabout take the Veitsch turn-off. Now follow the road straight ahead to the Brunnalm.

We start our hike at the large car park on the Brunnalm. Passing the valley station of the lift, we cross the lift route to the forest road and follow it to the junction. Here we turn left and continue past Alpengasthaus Scheikl to the Rotsohlalm signpost. We now follow the forest road, which climbs slightly, to the junction. Here we turn left at the bend and finally reach the signposted trail 465, which we now follow over the bridge to the path below the Schalleralm. Following the marked trail 464 to the left, we reach the pastures of the Schalleralm through a hollow path. The last section of the trail is a leisurely walk on flat terrain to the Rotsohlalm.

A stop at one of the mountain huts along the way promises a culinary alpine experience!
