More information
Via the Westautobahn (A1 from Salzburg or Vienna) to the exit Ybbs or St. Pölten/Süd, then B 20 to Mariazeller Land.
From the south to Bruck/Mur - Kapfenberg, then B 20 over the Seebergpass into Mariazell country.
We start in Mariazell and drive on the B20 in the direction of Mitterbach, but in St. Sebastian we branch off onto the Erlaufseestraße. Shortly before the Erlaufsee we keep right and drive along the Seestraße to Mitterbach. At the crossing to the B20 we keep left and shortly after the Erlaufstausee in Mitterbach we turn right in the first bend onto the forest road (marked "Hubertussee-Runde"). After the Schindelsattel (ascent) we ride a short downhill and then turn right into the Sonneck-Runde (marked). First comfortably, then rising again we reach the Sonneck, here we have a wonderful view of the Gemeindealpe and the Ötscher.
We stay on the forest road and come to the Habertheuer (left turnoff to the Bürgeralpenrunde), drive through the Habertheuer settlement and come back to B20 in St. Sebastian. Keep left here and shortly after the ÖAMTC turn left again into Wiener Straße, which takes us directly to the main square.
The tour can also be started in St. Sebastian or Mitterbach. If you don't want to cross the Erlaufsee, take the B20 directly to Mitterbach.
This tour is passable in both directions
Side trip to Lake Erlauf and/or Lake Erlaufstausee
