Coming from St. Lorenzen/Pogusch, drive to the Schwabenbergarena Turnau at the entrance of Turnau. From Bruck an der Mur and Kapfenberg, drive through the market town of Turnau and then turn right towards Pogusch. After about 300 meters, you will find the parking lot directly at Schwabenbergarena Turnau.
We start the loop at the Schwabenbergarena parking lot, now also the center of the Bircha recreation area. The route follows a forest road, which after about 800 meters transitions into a forest and hiking trail. Please be cautious of hikers, especially on the descent.
The forest trail is the most challenging section, featuring roots and partially washed-out paths. After this difficult stretch, the route continues on a forest road, crossing the ski slope with a beautiful view of Turnau. From the Feichtenhofer/Gamsjäger estate, we continue along a forest road until we reach the reservoir pond.
After 6.2 km, we arrive at our destination at the reservoir pond.
