Hiking around the oldest stone structure in Styria. Starting from Kindberg-Mürzhofen, this trail leads around the Kultstein. The path is particularly suitable for families and children. The Kultstein is considered the oldest stone structure (cultural monument) in Styria – a "power spot" – a beautiful place to relax and recharge, offering strength and energy.

The goal of the hike is the Kultstein, located in the heart of a high forest. The Kultstein is considered the oldest stone structure (cultural monument) in Styria, with an estimated age of 2,500 to 4,000 years. It is still unclear which people built this stone structure and for what purpose.

The area around the Kultstein is considered a "power spot". Prehistoric cult sites often share three characteristics, all of which are present here: They are located near springs, are oriented towards the sun, and the place has a special aura.

S6 Semmering Expressway – Exit Allerheiligen/Mürzhofen, then turn right towards Mürzhofen.

Starting from the Building Authority (Bauamt) in Mürzhofen, we follow Alte Poststraße until we reach the forest path. We come to a junction where we turn left and follow the path uphill through the forest until we reach a forest road. We continue along the forest road and eventually reach an intersection. Here, we turn left again and walk through the high forest until we reach the Kultstein.

From the Kultstein, we follow the forest path uphill to a forest road and turn right. We then descend through Lammbachgraben towards Althadersdorf. Walking along the field path, we head towards Mürzhofen, passing the Zöscher Chapel and the Kamsker Fish Pond. Finally, we return to Alte Poststraße and make our way back to the starting point at the Building Authority in Kindberg.

A particularly recommended stop is the Gasthof Turmwirt, located directly on the Kultsteinweg. Here, you can enjoy Styrian specialties to satisfy your hunger. Additionally, a playground awaits younger and smaller hikers for some fun and adventure.

By train/ÖBB: Allerheiligen/Mürzhofen station.

Parking is available in front of the Building Authority (Bauamt).
