SkillThe tour in numbers
A hike off the beaten path, leading over lesser-known alpine pastures high above Kindberg in the Mürztal. A recommended hiking route in Hochsteiermark, also part of the "From Glacier to Wine" long-distance hike across Styria or along the BergZeitReise trail.
Note: Grazing area – not an ideal tour for dogs!
Either from Kindberg’s main square or from the train station, passing Kindberg’s swimming pool and Oberkindberg Castle, then following the Herzlfresserweg to Gasthof Pölzl (adds approx. 1 to 1.5 hours), or start directly from there (parking available at Gasthof Pölzl).
The route continues via the Kochhütte, Ochsenhimmelkreuz, Herzogberg, and Töllamoarkogel to the Töllamoaralm, before returning to Gasthof Pölzl.
