The Aschbachloipe is a very sunny trail, easy to ski - also ideal for beginners!

The trail leads from the Pension Bieber to the Rotsohlgraben with a wonderful view of the Hohe Veitsch and then loops back to the inn.

Coming from Graz

take the A9 Phyrnautobahn north, then S35 Brucker Schnellstraße and S6 Semmering Schnellstraße to Kapfenberg exit, then B20 (Mariazeller Bundesstraße) approx. 40 km north (signpost).

Alternative: S6 to exit St. Marein and then over the Pogusch to Turnau and from Au on the B20 to Mariazell.

Coming from Vienna

take the A1 Westautobahn to the St. Pölten Süd exit, then take the B20 (Mariazeller Bundesstraße) 76 km south, either via Annaberg and Josefsberg, or in Freiland turn left from the B20 onto the B21 and continue via Hohenberg and St. Aegyd through Halltal and Mariazell towards Gußwerk.

Alternative: Südautobahn A2 and S6 Semmering expressway to Mürzzuschlag, then via Neuberg and Mürzsteg on the L113 via Niederalpl to Aschbach.

Approach to the entry point:in Gußwerk continue on the B20 to Wescheid - turn left in the direction of Niederalpl/Mürzzuschlage - the entry point is in Aschbach opposite the Bieber-Schöggl guesthouse.

We start in Aschbach at the Pension Bieber and ride in the direction of Rotsohlgraben, then in loops back to Aschbach.

Then we have to cross the road once and ride along the beautiful landscape to the beginning of Aschbach and back to our starting point.

Next stop: Gasthof Maurer in Wegscheid

Coming from Vienna

Option 1: Postbus from Vienna main station to Mariazell, from there by cab to Aschbach

Option 2: ÖBB or Westbahn to St. Pölten, then change to the Mariazellerbahn to St. Sebastian, from there by cab to Aschbach

Coming from Graz

Take the train from Graz to Kapfenberg station, then change to bus line 170 to Mariazell.
