By e-bike up the Lahnsattel in the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park

From Altenberg an der Rax, we follow the road out of the valley until it joins Preiner Gscheid Straße. Here, too, we continue out of the valley until we reach the main road at Kapellen an der Mürz (church). Cross this main road (watch out for traffic!) and join the Mürztal cycle path R5 at the coffee roastery.

From here, follow this to Mürzsteg, where it is particularly worth taking a break at Neuberg an der Mürz Abbey.

From Mürzsteg, keep to the right, past the Federal President's Villa, along the Mürz to a tunnel (Totes Weib, waterfall). Do NOT go through the tunnel but turn right past the old main road to the Freinerhof. Continue into the valley in view of the Göller and soon uphill to the Lahnsattel, which actually ‘stands’ a few metres in Lower Austria.

Return along the same route to Altenberg.
