In our grocery store, lovingly housed in a historic stone house, coziness and fine culinary arts come together – creating a place to enjoy and linger. The charming stone house is much more than a culinary retreat: it reflects the special atmosphere that also characterizes our chalets. Each room is individually furnished and enriched with contemporary art. We cook with the best ingredients from the region, with care and attention to detail. Small delicacies are also available for takeaway – for enjoyment on the go or at home. The Greißlerei Frein invites you – to enjoy with your loved ones or as an atmospheric setting for special occasions.

Deep in the untouched heights of Styria, where clear mountain water springs forth, lies the refuge of Freiner organic fish. In the midst of the idyllic landscape of the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park, char and trout thrive in ponds at almost 900 meters above sea level. The crystal-clear, cool water – rarely exceeding 12 degrees Celsius even in summer – allows the fish to grow slowly and naturally, giving their flesh a special firmness and pure flavor. Raised on pure organic feed, controlled and certified by Austria Bio Garantie GmbH.
