Open-air exhibition "Oswaldirücken" - Erzberg adventure!

The open-air exhibition is one of the tourist offers of the Erzberg Adventure. The exhibition stages a historic mining area in the midst of the Erzberg cut-and-cover building backdrop as an interface between the natural and cultural landscape.

The open-air exhibition "Oswaldi" on the "Styrian Iron Road" invites you to experience the history and importance of the Erzberg. It leads on winding paths over the green hill "Oswaldi- Rücken" - an enchanted, green oasis in the middle of the active Erzberg opencast mine. Experience up close how the miners have shaped the Styrian cultural landscape and “moved mountains” for 1,300 years. Experience the history of the origins of mining in an authentic location with an idyllic landscape and severe landscape intervention with heavy technology in close connection. Be inspired to reflect on our modern way of life, in which iron plays a fundamental and everyday role*.
