Accessible by public transportCharacteristics
SkillThe tour in numbers
This 15 km winter hike
(about 4 hours) follows the shore of Lake Grundlsee, offering
stunning views of the Backenstein, Reichenstein, and the Totes
Gebirge mountains.
The trail runs partly away from traffic, later along the lakeside,
and is not suitable for children
The cleared winter trail initially runs above the lake, away from traffic, and later continues along the lakeside next to the main road. Shortly before reaching Gössl, the path climbs gently through a small forest section before arriving in the village.
Along the way, there are several places
to stop for refreshments, such as the Gasthaus
Seeblick or the Dorfwirtshaus
Stöckl.
The return route follows the same trail back or can be done conveniently
by Postbus line 955 to Grundlsee
