The ski tour on the Loser in Altaussee is approximately 6.3 km long, rated as moderately difficult, yet still ideal for beginners. The ascent starts at the valley station of the Loser ski area and leads either along the panoramic road or via a marked ski touring trail through the forest to the Loserhütte at around 1,500 meters above sea level. From there, impressive views of Lake Altaussee and the surrounding mountains can be enjoyed.
The descent via the ski slope
is only permitted during the operating hours of the Loser
Bergbahnen, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00
p.m.
Attention: From 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. the next day, the ski area is
closed for safety reasons due to grooming work. The ski touring ascent trail
and the panoramic road may still be used for ascent during this time, but only
the panoramic road is allowed for descent – extreme caution is required due to
grooming operations.
